Good Weather Events

The Park of
Roses

Every June, 11,000 rose bushes bloom in this city park. It is not to be missed.

ComFest
A huge urban arts and music festival that happens to coincide with our wedding weekend. ComFest is in the Short North Arts District (see below), so they are easily combined.

Columbus Zoo and Aquarium
Jack Hanna, of David Letterman fame, is the Director of this fantastic zoo. In March they are opening a brand new water park and amusement park!

Columbus Clippers Minor League Baseball
Columbus's minor league baseball team has games on the 27th and 29th. Cheap hot dogs for all.

The Short North Arts District
The Short North is a revitalized neighborhood with great shopping, art galleries, and restaurants. A stroll through the neighborhood is a good way to spend the early part of Saturday.

Topiary Garden
This is a topiary garden depicting Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte. It's a pretty amazing sight, and a nice walk from the Short North and Comfest.

The Ohio State University
Home to the nation's best education and law schools, of course. Go Bucks!

Rainy Day Events

COSI (The Center of Science and Industry)
COSI is a nationally-renowned science museum that recently went through a major expansion. Don't miss the Space exhibit!

Franklin Park Conservatory
The Conservatory is a beautiful indoor greenhouse with a wide array of plants. Stop by for the butterfly show.

Columbus Museum of Art
Columbus's art museum, with a great collection of modernist art and a beautiful rose garden.

Plus

Downtown Delaware, near the wedding, has some neat shops and historic architecture.

Central Ohio -- if you can believe it -- has great local cuisine. We strongly recommend Cameron Mitchell restaurants. Cameron Mitchell runs a wide variety of places, from Italian to Seafood to casual diners and more. After dinner. try Graeter's ice cream. For cheap local cuisine, check out Skyline chili, our neighborhood bar the Blue Danube, our favorite Indian take-out Curry & Kabob, or the fast-food chains based in Columbus, White Castle and Wendy's.
